Antonio Guterres, United Nations Secretary-General, gave a talk on International Women's Day this year stating:
"At our current rate of change, full legal equality for women is some 300 years away."

He mentioned how women and girls continue to face discrimination and gross human rights violations and abuses.
That war hits women and children hardest with atrocities like rape, trafficking, sexual violence, and torture.
That women earn less than men with a pay gap of at least twenty percent or more.
That sectors dominated by women, like teaching and nursing, are underpaid across the board.
That politically, women remain under-represented and under-served.
